Annual Church Fast

Fast News – December 2025

Join The Creek for our Annual Church Fast, a sacred season of prayer, reflection, and intentional spiritual renewal. From January 1 through January 21, 2026, we will participate in the Daniel Fast, focusing on fruits, vegetables, and water while abstaining from sweets, caffeine, and other indulgences. This collective time of sacrifice helps us reset our spiritual posture, deepen our dependence on God, and create space for breakthrough in every area of our lives.

A corporate fast is more than individual discipline. It is a unified act of worship that aligns our hearts as a church. When we fast together, we silence distractions, strengthen our spiritual sensitivity, and position ourselves to clearly hear God’s voice. Our theme this year, Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough, invites each of us to seek God with renewed focus and expectation.

Our Fast Includes:

  • Daily Scripture Reading: Psalms 64–84
  • Devotional Study: Fasting & Feasting by Erin Davis (available for $5 at the Welcome Desk).
  • Prayer: Commit to prayer at least three times daily.
  • Sacrifice: Abstain from social media, unnecessary internet use, unless work-related. Limit your music choices to gospel. Use this time for spiritual reflection and personal growth.

We also encourage you to participate in our special New Year’s Day Worship Service on January 1, 2026, and join us for regular Bible Study sessions on January 8 and January 15. Stay connected with other members throughout the fast for encouragement, accountability, and spiritual support along the journey.

Preparation Resources

To support you, we will disseminate:

  1. A comprehensive Fasting Booklet, accessible through a QR code, which will incorporate the Fasting Instruction Sheet, Fasting Tips Sheet, and additional resources to guide you through the 21-day journey.
  2. The devotional book Fasting & Feasting by Erin Davis (available for purchase at the Welcome Desk for $5)

These resources, including the fasting booklet, devotional, and recipe ideas, will be available prior to the start of the fast. If you have Daniel Fast-friendly recipes you would like to share, please email them to info@gcbchurch.org.

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that prayer gives us direct access to God. During this fast, take time to journal your progress, present your requests to God, and intercede on behalf of others. Trust Him to strengthen you, guide you, and help you overcome challenges. As we pray and give thanks, God promises a peace that surpasses all understanding and the ability to experience His power at work in our lives. Believe Him for “exceedingly and abundantly above all you ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

If you have medical concerns, please consult your physician before participating. Let us enter 2026 with renewed focus, unity, and faith, seeking God’s will together and expecting great things.
