Position Summary

The Minister of Music is a spiritual leader responsible for developing and leading the church’s music ministry. This includes directing choirs and musicians, coordinating worship music for all services and events, and cultivating a worship culture that reflects both musical excellence and spiritual depth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead music for all worship services and special events.
  • Direct and develop choirs and instrumentalists.
  • Coordinate and lead weekly rehearsals.
  • Collaborate with the pastor to align music with sermon themes.
  • Introduce and teach new music to the congregation.
  • Oversee sound checks and coordinate with the tech team.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and musicians.
  • Manage the music ministry budget and equipment.
  • Foster a worship culture of inclusivity and spiritual excellence.

Qualifications

  • Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
  • Experience leading worship in a church setting.
  • Ability to teach, direct, and arrange music.
  • Familiarity with gospel and contemporary worship styles.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
