Position Summary
The Minister of Music is a spiritual leader responsible for developing and leading the church’s music ministry. This includes directing choirs and musicians, coordinating worship music for all services and events, and cultivating a worship culture that reflects both musical excellence and spiritual depth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead music for all worship services and special events.
- Direct and develop choirs and instrumentalists.
- Coordinate and lead weekly rehearsals.
- Collaborate with the pastor to align music with sermon themes.
- Introduce and teach new music to the congregation.
- Oversee sound checks and coordinate with the tech team.
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and musicians.
- Manage the music ministry budget and equipment.
- Foster a worship culture of inclusivity and spiritual excellence.
Qualifications
- Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting.
- Ability to teach, direct, and arrange music.
- Familiarity with gospel and contemporary worship styles.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
